Amazon to locate $50M warehouse in Greece
Amazon plans to locate a distribution center on Lexington Avenue in the town of Greece. The project, estimated at more than $50 million, is expected to generate 50 full-time and 50 part-time jobs. Roughly 400 construction jobs will be created.
The site is owned by Acquest Development, which will lease the 180,000 square-foot facility to Amazon. The project is expected to be complete by the end of July or early August, officials said.
“A critical investment has been made in our community, one that will bring new jobs and opportunities to working men and women and families throughout Monroe County,” said Monroe County Executive Adam Bello.
Bello’s team and the town of Greece worked together to make the project a reality.
“What does this mean for the residents of Greece? Jobs, jobs, and more jobs,” Bill Reilich, town supervisor of Greece. “Good jobs with benefits and solid wages. This project is a perfect example of cooperation utilizing public and private resources, joining together on behalf of our community. Despite the economic challenges that everyone has been dealing with since Covid, today is a bright spot on the path of future economic opportunities coming to our town and to our region.”
The Amazon facility, which lies inside Eastman Business Park, has begun and will be complete by the end of July or early August.
