Applications now open for Luminate

 The next Luminate business accelerator cohort is now open for applications. Visionary startups enabled by optics, photonics, or imaging are eligible to apply to the program and the chance to compete for $2 million in follow-up investment.

Each year, the business accelerator and investment fund selects 10 companies from around the world. Applications are due by January 8, 2024.

To all participants, the program provides mentoring and lab facilities, as well as access to investors, industry experts, and corporate sponsors. These companies will also benefit from a $100,000 investment at program acceptance, and access to a vast supply chain network that can help scale the company.

Upon acceptance to the program, start-ups benefit from the initial investment, along with mentorship and access to investors and comprehensive curriculum. Once a graduate of the six-month program, the companies will compete for $2 million in funding.

Any startup, regardless of its location, is encouraged to apply if it is developing a new application that leverages some aspect of optics, photonics, or imaging such as a cell phone camera for photos and video or computer sensors that can help detect characteristics like location, motion, damage, and facial recognition.

In the past, companies accepted into Luminate’s portfolio have been from diverse industries, including autonomous vehicles, communications, defense, entertainment, medical device, quantum computing, and security.
