Envative to expand offices downtown, foster startups
Envative, a software development firm, plans to expand in downtown Rochester, and use a portion of its office space to foster startups and technologists. The company expects to create up to 14 jobs by 2022.
Envative is slated to receive up to $400,000 in state tax credits. Monroe County and the city of Rochester are also supporting the $1.54 million project.
Envative, which has outgrown its current downtown offices, has purchased a larger building on Main Street. It expects to use some of the 13,000 square-feet of space to accommodate other technology companies and entrepreneurs as a way to encourage a cooperative enterprise for Rochester technologists and startups, through common workspace and technical support, state officials said.
“Envative has always believed in downtown Rochester, and it’s been exciting for us to witness all of the expansion and development that’s occurred here over the last 15 years since moving our offices here in 2002,” said Craig Lamb, partner at Envative.
The company plans to begin operating out of the new site sometime before the end of 2018. Envative, which started a couple of decades ago, develops custom web portals, mobile applications and advanced system integrations.
