The Modular Pitch Deck: Customized Pitches that Engage Investors
July 14, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
This session will be taught by Luminate Managing Director, Sujatha Ramanujan, PhD and Luminate Technology Program Manager, Damon Diehl, PhD. Registration for this event closes July 13 @ 5 PM.
A compelling business pitch requires a set of slides that support your claims and that the questions that an investor will have. The problem is that every investor has a different idea of what those slides ought to be! Trying to make a pitch deck that works for all investors results in a “lowest common denominator” pitch that satisfies no one. The solution is to create and maintain a “master deck” of slides from which you can select the few best slides for a specific situation. This course provides:
An inside look at the needs and interests of specific types of investors
Templates for a collection of slides that address the varied needs of any investor you might meet
Skills to identify which slides to use for a specific pitch opportunity.
Working through the process of creating these slides will force you to think through the details of your business, filling holes and smoothing rough spots. By selecting the right slides for the right situation, you will hook the attention of an audience and improve your chances of connecting with investors who best match your business.
