Free legal help available for micro-entrepreneurs
A free legal program will take place on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 and is by appointment only. Those eligible for the program include micro entrepreneurs or charitable organizations with limited budgets. The Micro-entrepreneur Pro Bono Project (MPBP) includes one-one consultations on contracts, agreements, choice of entity and other matters that can help entrepreneurs.
Eligible participants must meet income requirements and reside in Monroe County, NY. Those who participate will consult for free, with a pro bono attorney.
According to legal advocate Irene Sanchez, MPA, this free legal assistance program is designed to help individuals who wish to start or develop businesses in economically distressed neighborhoods.
In addition to the advice listed above, pro bono legal assistance is provided in other areas, including incorporation, licenses or permits, intellectual property, taxes, insurance, immigration and employment. All legal services are provided free of charge.
