New program trains no-code developers, helps them realize six-figure income potential
Applications are now being accepted for the free Embark Bootcamp, to train “no-code” software developers. This program is six months long and focuses on evening training. Funding for the program comes from the County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency (COMIDA).
Individuals with no-code development training and experience can go on to earn $100,000 or more as a freelance or full-time developer. These developers are people who build apps and websites by dragging and dropping visual elements in a logical way using tools like Bubble.io, FlutterFlow, and Zapier.
An eligible participant must be a resident of Monroe County. Individuals must attend weekly two-hour in-person sessions and be available 5 to 10 hours each week for training. Although prior programming experience is helpful, it is not required. A strong interest in building apps and websites is important. All applicants must have access to a computer and the internet.
To allow people to participate in the program, all phases of the bootcamp are designed around those who have full or part-time jobs. In addition, sessions also will be recorded so that people can make up a class should a conflict arise, such as illness or childcare needs.
For the first two months of the program (Phase 1), participants will learn the basics of no-code development. Then, 25 participants from the group will be selected to learn advanced no-code concepts over four months, which will result in certification (Phase 2). In the final phase, 10 participants will be chosen to receive guidance on how to launch their own software startup.
NextCorps will be holding informational sessions to help individuals determine if they would be a good fit for the bootcamp. Registration is required to attend. Click here to register for the training sessions.
