New system dramatically reduces the cost of local number portability
Moving telephone numbers from one system to another is a more expensive process than most people realize. Launched in 2020, X3i Solutions addresses these expenditures with a new system launching later this year that will reduce cost for companies by more than half.
“Some of the largest companies may spend $300,000 in a month on local number portability,” said Scott Magee, president and founder of x3iSolutions. “I believe we can reduce this expense to $100,000.”
The new system, called PortRx, will be ready for sale this fall.
“We are in a niche market, providing solutions for telecommunications carriers to manage number portability,” said Magee. “More importantly, we are going to make porting secure.”
Local number portability is going to change and the X3i team is ready to transform how this industry ports telephone numbers. Adding security is an important feature that has never been a part of this process before.
“The value of your telephone number has changed,” said Magee. “Recently, T-Mobile made an announcement that a million or more numbers were hacked; this is why our ‘new way’ will be such a solution.”
While developing this approach, X3i Solutions has been serving providers using current systems and an approach that has been used for the last 25 years. Magee is looking forward to introducing PortRx.
