NextCorps continues to reach entrepreneurs
Startup companies continue to benefit from NextCorps, as services for entrepreneurs continue to expand. NextCorps has been headquartered at Sibley Square downtown for three years, where it includes a business incubator and offers services including office space, resources and investment opportunities. There are five programs that the group runs to support businesses, including the incubator, which supports 60 businesses.
Originally known as High Tech Rochester, NextCorps moved downtown in 2017. The organization had one primary goal — to support 100 startup companies in five years. That objective has been reached in only three years. In addition, NextCorps has supported 17 student companies from the University of Rochester, managed 136 founder roundtables, implemented 900 one-to-one mentor meetings and supported 18 companies with $450,000 in grants.
Programs in the optics and photonics industries are also developing, along with two companies managed by NextCorps, Venture for ClimateTech and Scale for ClimateTech.
What’s next? NextCorps continues to grow and expand, supporting entrepreneurs through programs, mentors, venture capitalists and angel investors.
