Project funding now available for COVID recoveries
Competitive grant programs will award nearly $1 million from the four centers of the New York Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NY MEP). These grants are designed to help manufacturers become more adaptable, address problems created by COVID and prepare companies for future emergencies.
The four programs, which are open to manufacturing and technology companies in New York State, include:
• Manufacturing Reimagined Fund, led by FuzeHub
• Personal Protective Equipment Fund, led by ITAC
• Supply Chain Grant Program, led by the Center for Economic Growth (CEG)
• Next Generation Grant Program, led by the Manufacturing & Technology Enterprise Center (MTEC)
For FuzeHub’s Manufacturing Reimagined Fund, up to $170,000 will be awarded to initiatives that focus on COVID-related recovery efforts. Those who receive the award, will be granted up to $10,000. To apply, company representatives must attend of FuzeHub’s “Manufacturing Reimagined” webinars.
Companies in the New York City area can apply for $10,000 award for the Personal Protective Equipment Fund, managed by ITAC. Phase 1 focuses on those companies working to extend the lifespan of personal protective equipment (PPE); and Phase 2 will support the scaling needs of select PPE manufacturers across New York State.
For the Supply Chain Grant Program, managed by CEG, up to $200,000 will be available. These grants will be awarded for projects that improve business for manufacturers and address concerns caused by supply chain disruptions. Funds will help awardees to refine their supply chains, discover new products, find new customers and apply process improvements and can cover the costs of consultants, implementation, and more.
The Next Generation Grant Program, managed by MTEC, will award $350,000 to companies that need help in improving their operations in a world without COVID. Those who are selected will receive up to $10,000 to guarantee effective operations. This program focuses on cybersecurity, quality and and lean manufacturing.
All four of the grant programs contribute to NY MEP’s larger COVID Recovery Initiative.
