Project to create Amazon box art as region bids for HQ2
A grassroots project is underway to draw attention to Rochester as it vies to bring Amazon’s second North American headquarters to the region.
Spearheaded by Leo Linder, CEO of Emerge, Jeff Valentine, Partner, Exium Partners, and Aaron Newman, CEO and founder of CloudCheckr, the effort hopes to create art out of Amazon boxes. On his LinkedIn and Twitter pages Newman asks for 1,200 Amazon boxes of various sizes.
Greater Rochester Enterprise and Invest Buffalo Niagara have submitted a joint bid in pursuit of Amazon’s second North American headquarters. The region’s response focused on big picture thinking and the many key attributes that make Rochester, New York an extremely attractive option for Amazon.
Some of these attributes include a well-recognized regional affordability and low-cost of doing business, top-tier talent pipeline, strong history of innovation, and an existing urban infrastructure built to handle past size and future growth.
The deadline for Newman’s project is Feb.20.
