ShopLocalli’s platform keeps retailers going
With many stores being forced to close with social distancing measures in place, ShopLocalli.com is keeping local retailers afloat. An online marketplace that helps maintain business operations, ShopLocalli offers same-day delivery for products sold by local artists and retailers.
Current sellers on the platform include well-known local stores such as Aaron’s Alley, Krudco Skateshop and Mythic Treasures. Over a dozen local artisans have also listed items for sale. To help customers practice social distancing, ShopLocalli offers free delivery to all new customers who register on the site. After that, delivery costs are $2.
“Our existing retail & artisan partners are closing their storefronts or doing business by appointment only. That has a huge impact on business,” said Sam Jividen, who founded ShopLocalli in January. “We’re working with them to help maintain operations. By selling online, and delivering (the) same day, we’re able to help their customers practice social distancing, while still meeting the needs of the community.”
Currently ShopLocalli has more than 1,000 products available for delivery, and that number continues to increase every day as local artists sign up on the marketplace.
In a global pandemic such as COVID-19, technology, artificial intelligence and data science have become critical to helping societies effectively deal with the outbreak. ShopLocalli is an example of using digital technology to create innovative ways to adjust to this new lifestyle while still practicing safe measures to flatten the curve.
