Tompkins Metal Finishing to begin upgrade, add jobs in Batavia
Industrial plating company Tompkins Metal Finishing has installed a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment and recycling system at its Apollo Drive location. The facility upgrade will not only reduce water usage by as much at 80 percent but also allow the company to add another shift, resulting in the creation of up to 10 new jobs. A 100 jobs will be retained, 30 of which had been at risk.
Tompkins Metal Finishing, which received state incentives for the modernization project, is investing $900,000 in the facility upgrade which is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Established in 1955, Tompkins Metal Finishing operates in a new state-of- the-art 65,000 square foot facility. In addition to offering its customers high-quality products, Tompkins Metal Finishing owns a fleet of trucks, allowing them to deliver those products efficiently to customers throughout Western New York. They service clients in the aerospace, communications, transportation, electronics, optical, medical, machine, defense and protype fields.
