Worldwide competition with $2 million in startup funding is September 27

Watch startups compete in the world’s biggest pitch competition for photonics, optics and imaging technology on Wednesday, September 27 at Luminate Finals 2023. Register for the free awards ceremony and showcase, which begins at 11 a.m.

The event will be held in person at The Theater at Innovation Square, at 131 Chestnut Street in Rochester, as well as online.

A grand prize of $1 million will be awarded to Company of the Year. Other startups have the opportunity to earn part of another $1 million in funding. Participants can witness #InnovationIgnited at this event.

See the startups in cohort 6 of the Luminate accelerator, as they are trailblazers in augmented reality, eyecare, 3D mapping, chip manufacturing, IVF procedures, waterway monitoring and other fields.

Vote for a favorite team to help them take home the Audience Choice Award and $10,000. Audience Choice voting takes place live and is open to all registrants, whether participating in-person or virtually. All finals attendees will be prompted to use a web-based voting platform during a brief window of time. The votes will be tallied live, and the winner is revealed at the end of the event. Votes cannot be cast before or after the show.

All in-person attendees will have the opportunity to network among startup supporters, entrepreneurs, and members of Rochester’s innovation ecosystem. Plus, attendees can take lunch to go.

Luminate Finals 2023 is a free, hybrid event open to the general public. The virtual program kicks off at 11:30 a.m. The in-person event runs from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
